There is no shortage of quality radio stations in the Twin Sault market. And a relatively new kid on the block, broadcasting out of the Michigan Sault, is Eagle 95.1.

Just over a year ago, new ownership took over the Eagle 95.1 as long-time local disc jockey Tim Ellis, along with his wife Lindsay, purchased the radio station.

Tim Ellis, aka Timmy E, is no stranger to the airwaves of the Twin Sault radio market, having spent close to 25 years in the local broadcast business.

A hometown boy to boot, Ellis is respected and liked to the extent that he — along with staff meteorologist Jim Lehocky — were voted as most-popular announcers in a poll that also pegged Eagle 95.1 as the best Michigan Sault radio station.

Prior to taking over as the morning show host — and then owner — at Eagle 95.1, Ellis worked for 20 years at iconic local radio station 99.5 Yes FM.

As Ellis has focused on making Eagle 95.1 a community-minded radio station which, in addition to its classic hits format, also features play-by-play broadcasts of Sault High Blue Devils athletics, he is also looking to get more involved in the Sault, Ontario market.
