First, the whisky. Later, the wine. Broers Jansen, located in the Sault’s downtown, is planning a series of tasting events.

Leading off the taste agenda will be a Sunday, Feb. 23 appearance by John Clement, aka the Wandering Whisky Whisperer. Clement, who has traveled the world tasting whiskeys, has written two books on his drink of choice.

The February 23 event — named the Great Canadian Whisky Workshop — will be from 2-4 p.m. at Broers Jansen. Tickets are available at Broers Jansen — of which there are only 10 left as of this writing — at a cost of $35, which includes four half-ounce shots of whisky and paired food.

Meanwhile, looking ahead, Broers Jansen co-owner Stephen Jansen tells Sault Business Matters that his establishment is planning some upcoming wine tasting and wine teaching nights.

Sault Business Matters will have details, once they are finalized.

Located at 674 Queen St. E., across from Muio’s, beside the Museum, in the Sault’s downtown.
