McCleary at climate event
Sault Ste. Marie’s New Democratic Party candidate has confirmed she will be attending a global climate strike event that will be held here on Friday.
The demonstration is slated for Friday at noon at Clergue Park in Sault Ste. Marie.
“As a mother of two, I’m afraid of the path we’re on right now,” relayed Sara McCleary, who is representing the NDP for the Sault riding ahead of the October 21 federal election.
“A New Democratic government will declare a climate emergency and set ambitious scientific-based greenhouse gas reduction targets, so we can start working on fighting climate change right away in every decision we make as a country,” McCleary added.
