Lunch and supper at Gliss

Having moved into its current location at 133 Spring St. less than a year ago, Gliss Restaurant has settled nicely into the Sault’s downtown.

Pouring thousands of dollars of renovations into the building after buying the old Cesira’s Restaurant site that had been sitting idle for a couple of years, Gliss owners Derek and Kristi Turner say they are happy with their move from the north end of Bay St. to where they now are on Spring St.

A seasoned staff of cooks and servers who have been with Derek and Kristi for a number of years helps account for the consistency that makes Gliss the popular eatery that it is.

Gliss is open six days a week — Monday through Friday for lunch and supper and Saturday for supper.

Gliss is also available for private parties and functions during the early part of the day on Saturday as well as on Sunday.

Frequent menu changes is a Gliss highlight, though Derek — as chef — makes sure that the restaurant’s signature items such as steak, shrimp and whitefish are always available.

Meanwhile, Gliss recently began to offer free delivery from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on its lunch menu for those who live and/or work in the downtown area between Pim and Huron streets.
