“Wondering where you are … wishing you were here, on the coldest night of the year.” — from the Coldest Night Of The Year, by Canadian singer and songwriter Bruce Cockburn.

St. Vincent Place will launch its annual Coldest Night Of The Year event on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the facility’s Albert St. location in the Sault’s downtown.

At Monday’s launch party, those in attendance will be able to hear Dave Mornix share his story about how St. Vincent Place helped him.

Mornix spent time at the St. Vincent Place shelter a few years ago. Now, he is working and actively involved in the community while sitting on a number of local committees and boards – including St. Vincent Place.

Also appearing will be the honourary chair, Ward 2 city councillor Luke Dufour. The passionate, community-minded Dufour will share his experiences volunteering in the soup kitchen at St. Vincent Place over the last several years.

The launch party is set up as a glorious opportunity to learn more about CNOY itself – what it is, why volunteers are needed, and how it helps St. Vincent Place give hope to the hungry and homeless of the Sault.

If you can’t make it to the party but would like more information on CNOY feel free to contact Sara McCleary via [email protected] or 705-253-2770, ext. 4.
