Social distancing happy hour

Local radio station Eagle 95.1 plans to use social media to try to bring music and beer lovers together for a virtual ‘happy hour’ on Friday from 5-7 p.m.

Eagle 95. 1 station owners, Tim and Lindsay Ellis, have teamed up with two of its marketing partners, The Wicked Sister and Soo Line Limousine Service, to, as they say, “bring some normalcy to what are not normal times.

“Since this entire pandemic has started, we have been trying to find ways to be a place of information for our community, but also a place where they can come to and have fun, and take their minds off of the craziness going on,” relayed Tim Ellis.

“So we took our love of craft beer and music, and decided we were going to create a virtual happy hour to kick off the weekend.  It’s going to be a night of great music, prize giveaway, and sharing time together.  We are using social media to bring us together during social distancing.”

Here is how the Friday night, 5-7 p.m. happy hour will work via press release sent to Sault Business Matters by Eagle 95.1 — see below.

“We can’t wait to take requests and party with our valued listeners.  And when we say we are FLUSHING THE FORMAT, we mean it!  We will play ANY request during the happy hour, as long as we have radio friendly edits,” said Lindsay Ellis.

“We are following every instruction of social distancing and what is asked of us.  We are making sure we are doing our part. However, during these difficult times, we felt it was imperative to bring a light-hearted approach by sharing what resonates most between us…. the gift of music, a universal connector … oh and a few barley pops!”
