Stay home … shop local!
I will be the first to admit that I miss traveling into the U.S. as we liked the odd weekend getaways to Michigan to places such as Gaylord and West Branch.
We also got into the habit of filling up the gas tank in Sault, Michigan and while over there having supper at Antlers or the Palace and once in a while going to the Kewadin Casino.
The closure of the border however has reminded my partner and me how important it is to support our own local businesses right here in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
We have great places to dine at right here in our own city! We don’t have to leave home for a night out on the town or for an afternoon of shopping!
We have a downtown that has many good places to have lunch or supper and even an afternoon or evening drink or two and these are ALL businesses that are locally owned!
I do miss going into Michigan I will not lie. I am however making the best of the border closure by staying right here at home and supporting local business.
More than ever local business needs our support!

Yes. I agree with your comments. Always enjoyed the privilege to cross over the river and enjoyed all that they have to offer. I also support our local businesses and will continue to do so. Gonna miss our snowbird vacation this time around because we drive.
