Avery Construction expansion
The Ontario government is providing $1 million through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation to support the expansion of Avery Construction Ltd. in Sault Ste. Marie. This investment will help the company offer a reliable and more environmentally friendly source of asphalt for local projects, according to Sault member of provincial parliament Ross Romano.
“By helping local businesses to innovate and expand their operations, we are strengthening our local economy and providing new products and services to people throughout Northern Ontario,” said Romano. “We are also creating great employment opportunities through this $1 million investment that will create four full time jobs and an additional twelve seasonal full-time jobs.”
The funding will be used to purchase a portable asphalt plant. The new equipment will allow the company to provide a more environmentally sound asphalt for use on local road projects, as well as for paving parking lots, pathways and driveways.
