Sault MP opens campaign HQ
Sault Ste. Marie member of parliament Terry Sheehan has opened his campaign headquarters at 485 Queen St. E. in the downtown area between Spring and March streets.
The upcoming federal election is slated for on or about October 21.
Sheehan will try to retain his Liberal representation for the Sault in the House of Commons when the 43rd Canadian general election is held. He will be up against four other local candidates.
Sara McCleary of the New Democratic Party, Geordon (Geo) Mclean of the Green Party, Sonny Spina of the Conservative Party and Amy Zuccato of the People’s Party of Canada will all try to unseat Sheehan.
The Liberals currently hold a majority government with 177 seats. The Conservatives have 95 seats, the NDP has 40 and the Green Party has two.
