Yellow roses from Zonta
The Sault’s Zonta club — via celebration of International Women’s Day — presented yellow roses to 10 local women deemed to have made outstanding contributions to the community.
Those who were honoured include Laurie Alfano, Andrea Pietramale, Leslie Cassidy-Amadio, Mary Code, Shauna DiGasparro, Kathy Greening, Wendy Gutcher, Karen Lefave, Joanne Mantha McConnell (posthumous) and Morgan Nadon Turner.
“Presenting each of these wonderful women with a yellow rose on International Women’s Day is a simple act of recognition for the contributions they have made to the Sault and area and/or globally,” relayed Sharon Kirkpatrick, president of the local Zonta club.
Zonta is a global organization of members working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy.
The Sault’s Zonta club has been serving the area since 1978.
