Ford to release the facts

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has confirmed that he has instructed government health officials to release projection numbers on where the province is headed relative to the coronavirus pandemic.

Flanked by Ontario health minister Christine Elliott and associate minister of mental health and addictions Michael Tibollo, Ford said the information will be released to the public by health officials on Friday.

“They’re going to tell the public exactly what they’re telling me and it’s going to be very clear where we were, where we are now and where we could be if we don’t follow the chief medical officer’s protocol,” Ford relayed.

“We have to be fully transparent with the people of Ontario, no matter how hard it will be,” the Premier added.

Meanwhile, the no-nonsense Ford said he “cannot comprehend” why some people aren’t listening to social distancing protocol.

“They make think ‘it’s not going to happen to me.’ Well, it can happen to anyone, anyone in the world,” Ford said. “Not only doing that is unsafe — you can say selfish — because God forbid they get COVID-19 and all of a sudden they’re touching items that people go by and touch and then it spreads rapidly.

“It’s disappointing to say the very least,” Ford added.

  2. Hi Steve,
Here is the link to apply online for the Canada Emergency Response Fund. It goes live on Monday April 6. Also, perhaps contact M.P. Terry Sheehan’s office and they can advise. Terry was just on yesterday’s teleconference call that the City set up to help businesses navigate what help is available for businesses. There is also a City Business Support hotline for business owners to access as well. See below for the link and the City phone number. I also suggest following the City on FB as they have been having several teleconferences to relay helpful information for businesses and answering questions.
