First Baptist Church has resumed its Sunday service, Sault Business Matters has confirmed.

Along with other places of worship, the venerable downtown church had been closed under order from the Ontario government due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jack DeVries is the pastor of First Baptist Church.

Located at 465 Albert Street East (on the corner of March Street), in the Sault’s downtown, First Baptist Church is again offering its Sunday service at 11:00 a.m.

“The Word of God has been preached in this location for over 125 years. Innumerable people have discovered the peace of God found in Christ over those many years. In these present turbulent days, it is the same Gospel and that same Christ who can bring peace and satisfaction to our lives. The Lord Jesus Himself said, ‘Come unto me ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’ (Matt. 11:28).

“Join us as we worship and study the Word of God so that all of us together might find the reality of lives transformed by the power of Christ.” — Pastor Jack DeVries, First Baptist Church of Sault Ste. Marie.
