EDITOR’S NOTE: Sault Business Matters has received the following media release relative to Algoma University’s annual John Rhodes Scholarship Dinner.
Algoma University’s annual John R. Rhodes Scholarship Dinner and Art Auction is set for Oct. 12 and will feature The Amazing Race’s Season 7 winners The Amazing Two Spirit Couple.
The John R. Rhodes Scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship offered at Algoma University and is awarded to a high school entrance graduate who embodies integrity, leadership, and commitment to community service. This year’s Marquis event will be held at The Machine Shop in Sault Ste. Marie, and will honour the late Brent Lewis, a local business leader, Rotarian and Algoma U Alumni who made profound contributions to the community.
This year, Algoma University is thrilled to announce that the Amazing Two Spirit Couple, Anthony Johnson and Dr. James Makokis will be Emceeing the event, sponsored by ApplyBoard. The pair shattered stereotypes as the first-ever Two-Spirit team on the Amazing Race Canada.
