Seniors month at the library
The Sault Ste. Marie Public Library is recognizing Seniors Month with its annual Boomers and Beyond event on Wednesday, June 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is celebrating the fashions, films and pop-culture of the ‘Old Hollywood’ era with local partners in the arts, culture and recreation community.
The 1935 film Top Hat, starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, will be screened throughout the afternoon. Film goers can enjoy popcorn and refreshments.
The 2024 list of community vendors and partners includes:
Sault Ste. Marie Museum, Art Gallery of Algoma, West End Theatre Project, Galaxy Cineplex, Magical Paws, Sault Ste. Marie Active 55+, and Cravings by Paula.
Library staff will be offering hands-on workshops that include a vintage themed craft station, and Gadget Corner tech help.
Mark your calendars and invite your friends to this free event. Feel free to come dressed in your best 1930’s ‘Old Hollywood’ attire and take walk down the red carpet. For more information, contact the Reference and Information Desk at 705-759-5236.
