The women’s basketball buzz is contagious this year! Why not get in on the game with a fun way to get in some cardio and meet some great ladies this summer?
The Soo Women’s Basketball League (SWBL) is excited to announce our summer pickup season 2024 is now open to registration. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a bit out of practice, this is your chance to join a fun and inclusive community of hoopers.
Summer is busy and we know it’s tough to commit to a weekly team sport! In our summer pickup league, we form new teams each week with whoever shows up to play. It’s a great way to meet new people and enjoy the game!
The cost to join is $40 per player for the 9 week summer season. No jerseys are provided this year – bring a black and a white shirt each week. This is a recreational and not a competitive league.
Registration is limited to women ages 22+ who are no longer playing at the college or university level.
Games will take place every Thursday evening in July and August from 8 PM to 9 PM at the George Leech Centre (at Algoma University).
Registration is first come-first served and there are about 10 spaces left! Sign-up is open until May 31, but will close sooner if we fill up.
