Big Blue Food Drive
EDITOR’S NOTE: Sault Business Matters has received the following media release from St. Vincent Place relative to its annual Big Blue Food Drive later this month.
St. Vincent Place is excited to announce that our annual Big Blue Food Drive will be on September 28,
and you can help make sure it’s a success!
The Big Blue is a one-day, city-wide food drive that helps to fill our food bank shelves for the start of winter. Donors simply place their donations at their curb by 10:00 am on the day of the event and our volunteers do the rest.
We’re now looking for volunteers who have a few hours to spare to help out with the event. We have
several roles we need to fill, including driver/runner teams to collect the donations (a total of 50 pairs),
as well as sorting, packing, and storing the donations once they arrive at St. Vincent Place.
More information about what is involved in all of these tasks, as well as the time commitment, is
available on our website at www.vincentplacessm.ca/food-bank/big-blue.
For those who want to help out while getting some fresh air, we are also looking for volunteers to help
drop off flyers in mailboxes (in their own neighbourhoods or beyond) between now and the event. This
is a great way for anyone to help, but especially high school students who need to earn some volunteer
hours.
If you’d like to volunteer to help with the Big Blue Food Drive, please complete the form on our website
at www.vincentplacessm.ca/food-bank/big-blue.
