Ward 2 city councillor Lisa Vezeau-Allen will run as the New Democratic Party candidate for the Sault Ste. Marie riding at the looming Ontario provincial election which is slated for February 27.

Lisa Vezeau-Allen

Vezeau-Allen has a prior history with the local NDP as the vice president of the riding association and co chair of election campaigns for iconic former Sault MPP and Sault MP Tony Martin.

Vezeau-Allen will be up against Progressive Conservative candidate Chris Scott at the upcoming provincial election. Scott will look to retain the PC’s Sault Ste. Marie seat at Queen’s Park, one that is currently held by long-time local MPP Ross Romano. Romano will not seek re-election but will be heavily involved in the Scott campaign.

The local Liberal Party has yet to name a candidate.
