Big deals for National Supply
A Sault Ste. Marie company made major moves at a recent European trade show and business matchmaking forum. National Supply Group inked deals with a number of global firms, including France-based Advanced Foundry Services, the United Kingdom’s Corewire Ltd. and Italy-based NICRO.
The contracts were signed during the Bright World of Metals expo in Dusseldorf, Germany. In addition to these new agreements, National Supply Group also extended its partnership contracts with a pair of Italian companies, Thermocast and Bombardieri.
“These new agreements will further enhance our product line and improve our ability to service the steel industry across North America,” said National Supply Group president Albert Giommi.
“This will also generate additional local employment and allow us to partner with Sault Ste. Marie businesses to provide the necessary servicing they require,” Giommi added.
Advanced Foundry Services produces mill stand rolls, a vital component in the steel-rolling process. Corewire Ltd. manufactures flux and metal-cored welding machines for hard facing, which are used in the steel industry to resist wear, corrosion and heat. NICRO develops and reconditions high-nickel content alloy components suitable for high-temperature and corrosive environments of heat-treat equipment.
By partnering with the above-mentioned companies, National Supply Group is now able to offer these technologies and services from its base operation in Sault Ste. Marie.
The Bright World of Metals is a unique expo held every four years. This year’s trade show attracted more than 2,000 exhibitors and around 78,000 participants from across the globe. The event features business-to-business matchmaking sessions, seminars and symposiums, special exhibits, and educational forums.
To help drum up business for local firms, the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation also attended the Bright World of Metals trade show. The organization represented the community and Sault companies at the event. Its goal was to generate opportunities to create and retain jobs locally.

“We participated in the Bright World of Metals expo to promote our community and the capabilities of local companies.
