The hot dog kid is open for business. 17-year old entrepreneur Sammy Jansen is back in town with his Hot Dog Sammy’s World Famous Weenies.

After a successful debut in the summer of 2018, Hot Dog Sammy once again has his full-service cart in operation. It is neatly — and conveniently — situated downtown between the Sault Ste. Marie Museum and Broers Jansen/Wine Barrel on Queen Street, near East Street.

Hot Dog Sammy opened for the summer on Tuesday of this week and he told Sault Business Matters that sales have been “really good.”

Besides selling jumbo hot dogs for just $2.50, pop, water, chips, cookies and gum are available for only $1 apiece.

During the school year, the ever-smiling Sammy lives with his mom in Paris, Ontario. He is again spending the summer in Sault Ste. Marie with his dad, Josh Jansen, and his step mom, Bethany Jansen.

Josh and Bethany and Josh’s brother, Steven, own and operate the aforementioned Broers Jansen/Wine Barrel.

Hours of operation for Hot Dog Sammy’s World Famous Weenies are Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hot Dog Sammy’s is located in downtown Sault Ste. Marie, next to Broers Jansen/The Wine Barrel.
