Ho! Ho! Ho! This is a chance to celebrate the season with friends and family at the Downtown Association’s Moonlight Magic event — and the lighting of the community tree.

All residents are invited to join the Downtown Association and Mayor Christian Provenzano on Thursday, November 21 at 7 p.m. in front of the courthouse in the Sault’s downtown.

Moonlight Magic officially kicks off the festive season.

Beginning at 6 p.m. next Thursday, you can enjoy live holiday music, free hot chocolate courtesy of Tim Hortons and also visit with Santa.

Free s’mores and hand warming stations will be on Queen Street as well as spiked cider and ice bar stations.

Guests can participate in the annual hot chocolate competition, ice carving demonstrations and ice games.

As well, downtown merchants will be open until 11 p.m. for late night shopping and deals.

And in the spirit of the season, guests are encouraged to bring donations for the Sault Transit Stuff-A-Bus for Christmas Cheer.

Motorists are reminded that Queen Street from Pim Street to Dennis Street will be closed on Thursday, November 21 beginning at 3 p.m. for the event but crossroads going north and south will be open.
