Message from St. Vincent Place

Sault Business Matters has received the following media release from the good folks at St. Vincent Place men’s shelter.

“Every year, volunteers at St. Vincent Place put together Christmas gifts for our clients to make sure that everyone can have a special Christmas — and you can help.

St. Vincent Place is asking those looking to make a difference in their community this season to donate toward the purchase of the Christmas gifts.

You can do so by going to our Online Gift Catalogue at vincentpl.ca and choosing what kind of gift you’d like to donate towards.

And as an added bonus, you can make two gifts in one by donating in someone else’s name and we’ll send them a card letting them know. (Just enter the recipient’s information as the “Ship To” information at checkout.)

Although some of our clients with children do sign up for Christmas Cheer, we like to give out these gifts to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, can have a Merry Christmas.

And sometimes the gifts aren’t for the client directly –a client might take a gift home to give to a parent they can’t afford to buy for, or an aunt will take one to be able to give to her nephew on Christmas morning. After all, everyone likes to give gifts on Christmas just as much as they like to receive them.

The gifts will be given out at our Christmas dinner on Wednesday, December 11, so we hope to receive donations by the end of November.

If you’d rather donate your time, we’d also be happy to have you join us at our “Wrapping Party”to get the gifts ready to give out. Details are being finalized, but it is tentatively scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, December 3 –Giving Tuesday.

If you’d like to get involved, or if you have questions, get in touch with Sara today at 705-253-2770 ext. 4 or [email protected].”
