Try a wood-fired calzone or …
Checked out, for the first time, the relatively new Steamfitters Lounge, which is located in the Machine Shop building on Huron St. in the Sault’s west end.
Steamfitters Lounge is literally right across the hall from the Boiler Room, which has quickly become well-known for its popular wood oven pizza.
On to the Steamfitters Lounge, I went there with the intention of trying a wood fired calzone.
Simply put, the wood fired calzone — I ordered it with mozzarella and fresh mushrooms — was mouth-watering and light-tasting, all in one.
Not only that, it was inexpensive, just $10 for a good-sized calzone that came on a plate, neatly portioned in half, with marinara dipping sauce on the side.
My wife had an order of dry rub, wood fired wings, which she said were “really good.”
Nice atmosphere in the Steamfitters Lounge as well. (see photo above.) And we had friendly, pleasant service via a young lady by name of Danielle.
Our bill, which included three pints of craft beer on tap (one for Mary, two for me) came to $53.68, minus tip.
Will we return? Absolutely. In fact, sooner than later is the plan.
We highly recommend it.
