Take a bow, Krista Nolan

Downtown Sault Ste. Marie business owner Krista Nolan is the epitome of hard work that translates into success and acknowledgement. Nolan, who routinely starts her day before 6 a.m. and works well into the evening, is the hands-on owner of Mane Street Co., which operates a hair salon, a women’s fitness centre, bar and cafe, and an event centre — all located in the same building at 626 Queen St. E.

Slowly but surely over the years, Nolan has built up her multi-faceted business into one that not only offers so much in the way of diversity but has become highly respected by customers and fellow entrepreneurs alike.

And not only that, the Ontario provincial government, via Associate Minister Of Women’s Social and Economic Opportunity, Charmaine Williams, has taken note.

Williams was in Sault Ste. Marie recently and along with Sault MPP Ross Romano, visited Mane St. Co. and presented Nolan with a certificate of recognition from the Ontario government for “contributing to the province’s economic growth, advancing women’s business and strengthening the fabric of Ontario through leadership and excellence in entrepreneurship.”

Nolan, from her end, typically prefers to let actions speak louder than words. So, she was her usual humble self when asked by Sault Business Matters about the realization that Mane St. Co. received from the Ontario government.

“… was surprised with this incredible award presented by Charmaine Williams herself with Ross Romano while they were here for lunch …” is what our girl Krista had to say.
