EDITOR’S NOTE: Sault Business Matters has received the following media release from PUC Services of Sault Ste. Marie relative to an event slated for this Friday.

As the world gears up to commemorate World Water Day on Friday, March 22, PUC Services Inc. (PUC) is thrilled to announce a unique opportunity for the public to gain insight into the intricate process of water purification. In celebration of this important global event, we invite citizens to join us at the water filtration plant for a tour of the facility.

During the tour, participants will witness the rigorous protocols employed by our skilled team of experts. From filtration to disinfection, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the various stages involved in the treatment process and the measures implemented to uphold water quality standards.

“We are excited to extend this invitation to the public on World Water Day,” said Brooke Suurna, Director of Water Operations at PUC Services Inc.” It is an opportunity for individuals to see the diligence and dedication that goes into ensuring the provision of safe and clean drinking water for our community.”

The tours promises to be both educational and enlightening, offering attendees a behind-the- scenes look at the critical infrastructure that supports our daily lives. Participants will also have the chance to engage with our knowledgeable staff, who will be on hand to answer questions and provide insights into the importance of water conservation and stewardship.

The open house runs from 3:00 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. on Friday, March 22, with tours every 20 minutes. All participants must wear closed-toe shoes. Hard hats and safety glasses will be provided.
