Sault Ste. Marie radio station Eagle 95.1 has undergone a name change while forming an alliance — and future ownership — with a kindred broadcast outlet from nearby Mackinac City.

What it means is that radio stations 95.1 and 94.5 have teamed up to form the all new Bridge FM with a classic hits format that plays music from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

The highlight of these changes is the new visual identity of both 95.1 and 94.5. The updated logo and branding elements intend to strive to try to symbolize the energy of the two radio stations in bridging community partnerships.

Tim Ellis

A more clear signal — one giant signal in fact — is also part of the alliance between 95.1 and 94.5 as they band together under the new Bridge FM moniker.

The affable Tim Ellis, a local lad who has been a mainstay on the airwaves of Sault Ste. Marie and area radio stations for more than 25 years as an announcer and owner, is well known for his community involvement and unwavering commitment to the broadcast industry.

“Our goal is to provide an unparalleled listening experience that entertains, informs, and inspires our listeners,” relayed Ellis, who besides being an owner with his wife, Lindsay, is the morning show host on Bridge FM. “The new look and logo, Bridge FM, is all about strength and bridging communities.  Our expanded footprint is a testament to our commitment to creativity and growth.”

Lindsay Ellis

As for the aforementioned Lindsay Ellis, who is no stranger to radio listeners as a mid day host in addition to carrying on as the director of promotions, events and marketing for Bridge FM, she offered her take on the teaming up of 95.1 and 94.5.

“Crafting creative, outside of the box ideas for our listeners has always been the core of (our) business purpose,” said Lady Ellis. ““We’re excited to show our expanded markets the fun we have in radio, driven by community focused, community-oriented engagement and strategies.”
