Uncle Gino’s Pizzeria is no. 1
The City of Sault Ste. Marie held its first ever Pizza Fest at the downtown plaza on the weekend. This great inaugural event, in addition to featuring pizza going for a mere $1 per slice at participants’ stations, had live musicians, fun kids’ activities plus the much appreciated water feature given the scorching sun that day!
The afternoon drew steady crowds with over 500 people attending. Over 2,500 pieces of pizza were enjoyed and it was one of our very own advertisers, Uncle Gino’s Pizzeria, that won in both categories, that is best specialty pizza and best pepperoni and cheese pizza. It was their specialty meatball parmesan that won by a landslide and they also narrowly beat out Ricardo’s for best pepperoni and cheese.
Congratulations Katie and team at Uncle Gino’s Pizzeria! Kudos to the City of Sault Ste. Marie for hosting and we hope they continue to promote local businesses by hosting events like this. We have no doubt that even more great local restaurants will take part next year!
