EDITOR’S NOTE: Sault Business Matters has received the following media release from the District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administration Board.

The District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administration Board (DSSAB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Shauna DiGasparro as its newest board member, representing Sault North.

DiGasparro is well known in the local non-profit sector as a dedicated and compassionate volunteer who has spent years working to improve the lives of community members in need. A full-time employee at McDougall Energy, she also volunteers at St. Vincent Place, where she recently served as Board Chair, and plays an active role in day-to-day supports.

DiGasparro also takes the lead on major community initiatives, including St. Vincent Place’s Big Blue Food Drive and Coldest Night of the Year, which bring in significant funds and support for local poverty-relief programs.

“We are pleased to welcome Shauna to our Board of Directors at this pivotal time for the DSSAB,” said Stephanie Pagnucco, DSSAB Board Chair. “Her experience in the social services sector, particularly within not-for-profit organizations, will be a valuable asset as we work to address the homelessness crisis in our community. Shauna’s perspective will further strengthen our efforts across all major areas of our mandate, including EMS, childcare, Ontario Works, and housing.”

“I am honoured and excited to join the Board representing Sault North and its mission of helping people, building lives, and strengthening our community,” said DiGasparro. “My passion for advocacy and experience volunteering with vulnerable populations aligns deeply with DSSAB’s mission, vision and values. With a background in operations, efficiency, and continuous improvement, I am committed to supporting sustainable solutions that make a lasting, meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.”
