PUC community open house
PUC and partners of the Sault are inviting residents and stakeholders to attend a community open house to learn more about proposed solar generation projects that aim to enhance local energy resilience and support Ontario’s growing electricity needs.
The open house will aim to provide an opportunity for residents to access project information, ask questions, and share feedback directly with project representatives.
Event Details:
Date: Tuesday, August 19, 2025
Time: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Location: Northern Community Centre, 556 Goulais Avenue, Sault Ste. Marie
The proposed projects are part of PUC’s response to Ontario’s Long-Term Energy Procurement initiative and are designed to deliver clean, reliable, and locally generated electricity. If awarded contracts, the solar sites will be constructed on several west-end properties in Sault Ste. Marie and will be developed with a strong focus on environmental stewardship and community engagement.
PUC encourages all interested residents to attend and participate in the discussion. Residents can also reach out to generation@ssmpuc.com with any questions or feedback.
