PUC Services Inc. would like to remind customers of the financial assistance programs available to help manage energy costs. The PUC recognizes that this time of year can be challenging for many families, individuals, and businesses.

For customers experiencing difficulty paying their utility bills, several support options are
available to provide assistance. Financial Assistance Programs Include:

  • Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP)- Enables eligible low-income customers to
receive a fixed monthly credit on their electricity bills.
  • Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)- Provides emergency
financial assistance to eligible low-income customers.
  • Housing Stability Bank (HSB)- Facilitated by Ontario Works is available for PUC
    customers who qualify.
  • Energy Affordability Program (EAP)- Helps qualified homeowners, tenants and social
and/or assisted housing providers improve their energy efficiency of their homes.
  • Ontario Electricity Rebate (OER)- A provincial program that provides a percentage
rebate on electricity bills for Ontario households, farms, and small businesses.“
  • At PUC, our focus is on supporting our customers when they need it most,” said Jairus
Patterson, Manager of Communications & Customer Relations at PUC Services Inc. “If someone
is facing financial challenges, we encourage them to reach out. Our team can work with
customers on flexible payment arrangements and help connect them with available support
    options.”
Customers can also take steps to reduce energy costs through Save on Energy programs, which offer rebates and incentives to make energy-efficient upgrades more affordable. These programs support homeowners and businesses looking to lower costs while improving sustainability.
