Snow squall weather alert

Environment Canada has issued a weather alert in the form of a snow squall warning for areas from the Sault to St. Joseph Island as well as Searchmont to Montreal River to Batchawana Bay.

That is, in the wake of a low pressure system, cold northwest winds over the relatively-warm waters of Lake Superior are resulting in snow squalls and flurries over the above-mentioned regions today.

While the snow squalls are expected to taper off this evening, they could re-emerge by Tuesday morning, Sault Business Matters has confirmed.

Total snow-fall accumulation of between 15 and 20 centimeters is possible by the end of today — and blowing snow will lead to poor visibility.
